Make a rope rug S/M

from CHF 220.00

What

A 3.5-hours long class making a small rug from retired climbing ropes.

Why

Safety guidelines in climbing dictate that gear often needs to be put out of use even though visually it may still be in a great condition. That makes old climbing ropes a perfect match for creative up-cycle projects.

For who

For 1 or 2 weavers. The course is suitable for all levels, no prior experience is needed. Come with your friend, partner, flatmate, or coworker and make a rug for a shared space together — it’s not only more fun, but also as a duo, you weave at discounted price per person!

Price

220CHF per person (1 weaver, 1 rug)

160CHF per person (2 weavers, 1 rug)

Language

English and/or German, depending on the preference in the group. Polish at special request :)

Process

You will be able to:

  • choose ropes from a collection of ca. 20 available colours

  • choose one of 3 available patterns

  • set up a simple wooden loom board

  • weave

  • finish the ends of the rug

  • have lots of fun and go back home with a colourful interior piece which you made yourself!

The course is suitable for all levels, no prior experience is needed.

The workshop is meant for max. 8 participants and will be led by me - Natalia, I’ll be there for you at every step. All tools and materials will be provided, including printed instructions to help you follow your chosen pattern.

Please consider

The cost to attend the course varies depending on the number of weavers you choose in the form below (1 or 2 people per 1 rug).

Please note that the nature of working with reclaimed materials means that it can not be ordered in bulk. The availability of specific colours varies over time and some ropes may occasionally show signs of wear and tear. I regularly search for and carefully source old ropes, which are then thoroughly cleaned to ensure you have a broad selection and a positive experience while making your new rug.

I reserve the right to cancel the workshop with a full refund if fewer than 3 participants sign up. Thank you for your understanding.
